Want to have a better relationship with your child and feel more confident in your parenting? Most likely you’re worried about your kid, and it’s not just any worry--it’s the kind that keeps you up at night and ages you twice as fast. I'm here to help. Together we focus on ways to improve your communication, address your concerns, and not only bring some sanity and assurance back to your world but help you to become a more confident parent.
Parenting is incredibly important and interesting to me because I feel for the motivating concerns of both the parents and the children/adolescents. I deeply value the role that relationships play and just how challenging it really is for both sides. When I work with families, I use a parenting method called Positive Discipline. It not only provides useful tools and strategies, but a complete orientation of how to have healthy relationships and most importantly, how to pass that on to your children. Based on respectful communication and the core belief that children need to feel belonging and significance, Positive Discipline shows parents how to set effective boundaries by creating a balance of being kind AND firm at the same time. It focuses on parenting with the long-term in mind and utilizes practical techniques that teach responsibility, problem solving, and intrinsic motivation.
Parent coaching focuses on identifying current parenting challenges and learning practical tools and solutions. Sessions can include up to 3 people involved in the parenting process or the whole family.
